Troy's 105 Diner is located in the Northwestern corner of North Carolina. The "High Country" is so called because it has the highest average land elevation in the Eastern US. Troy's Caters to Travelers  and locals alike who are looking for quality affordable dining. The signature burgers, milkshakes and home-made soups, topped with excellent service, sets Troy's apart from the average diner.

Troy and Sandy Bryum bought Mel's Diner in September of 2005. They looked forward to bringing back the diner to it's original  condition and quality. In the summer of 2006, they decided to change the name to Troy's 105 Diner.

Troy has been a chef in the area for over 20 years. He originally came to the area to work @ Eseeola Lodge. In early 1990, he took the executive chef position at Elk River Country Club in Banner Elk.

After many years there, he left to become the executive chef at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center. After over 25 years in fine dining, Troy and Sandy want to make a change.

Troy thought that buying the diner would be fun. He also looked forward to the challenge and the change of pace.
